Boujee Bouillon

bo͞o(l)yän

Bouillon (n) is a clear, thin broth; or a plain unclarified stock or broth. Not to be confused with bullion (n) which is gold or silver in bars, ingots or plates. Growing up, we always used bouillon cubes to flavor dishes because it was easy, inexpensive, and just made stuff taste better.

Nowadays, I opt for a better option that is bursting with flavor and without any of the negative traditional ingredients. If you’ve been using those little bouillon cubes from the store it’s time to stop. They are full of all kinds of crap that isn’t good for you. And, not to mention the sodium content – over 840 mg for just ½ a cube! Why not just save yourself the trouble and drink the saltshaker?

But there is a much better alternative. SITS Veggie Blast Bouillon and No Chicken Chicken Bouillon is brand spanking new! It’s healthier, fat-free, adds amazing flavor to your food, and no added salt!

SITS bouillon, has real ingredients you can pronounce and are probably familiar with. While its true, there is nothing even remotely resembling chicken in our No Chicken Chicken Bouillon, you will be amazed at how great this tastes!

You’ll love these vegan bouillon powders because they are . . .

  • Herby

  • Super-flavorful

  • Can be made in minutes

  • Inexpensive

  • Adds amazing flavor to dishes

  • Healthy

  • No added Salt

  • Delicious!

Back in the day, mom had no idea that those little seasoning cubes from the grocery store were not the least bit good for us. They are actually loaded with some pretty nasty ingredients.

How do you feel about monosodium glutamate (MSG), hydrolyzed soy/corn/wheat gluten protein, hydrogenated cottonseed oil, beef fat, beef extract, water, disodium guanylate, disodium inosinate, hydrogenated soybean oil, and sulfites?

No wonder many people report allergies and headaches after eating that stuff!

A much healthier vegan bouillon option

Thankfully, there is a much healthier way to flavor food. Our bouillons add incredible flavor to soups, stews, chowders, casseroles, and so much more; plus, it is quick and easy to make. You can feel good about this healthy bouillon because it is free from chemicals and additives. I love to use them to season my beans and even on vegetables like roasted Brussels sprouts or corn on the cob. It tastes delicious sprinkled over a fresh-baked potato as well.

And even better, there’s nothing related to an animal in out No Chicken Chicken bouillon. It’s totally vegan. No chickens were harmed in making this product. So, embrace it to get that umami-ness of chicken stock, without offending anyone.

Nutritional yeast is the main ingredient. If you haven’t heard of it before, that needs to change because this stuff is delicious!

What is nutritional yeast?

Have you heard of nutritional yeast before? It is different from bakers or brewer’s yeast that most of us are used to hearing about. It is a deactivated yeast that is used for flavoring food.

Nutritional yeast is a great source of protein, B-complex vitamins, and trace minerals and other vitamins. It’s the addition of all of the herbs and spices that transforms this powdery yellow substance into a perfect substitute for those store-bought cubes and powders.

Nutritional yeast has a nutty, cheesy, savory flavor and can be sprinkled directly on foods like potatoes, pizza, vegetables, and more. It is my base for these savory bouillons.

Not only is it great to sip on a hot cup of either bouillon; but those times you are cooking and realize you don’t have any stock . . . or maybe only need a half a cup or a cup. Instead of opening a large container, these bouillons will do the trick!

These powders are so easy to use too! No Chicken Chicken use: 2 teaspoons of bouillon to 1 cup of boiling water; and the Veggie Blast use: 1 Tablespoon of bouillon to 1 cup of boiling water. That’s it. So, I will just add my spoonful to a measuring cup, add the water and give it a good stir. Then it is ready to go into the recipe on the stove cooking away.

It’s healthy, all natural, and a great little thing to have in your fridge. Kept in the fridge, it will be there for you, for a good long while. And please, get rid of those nasty cubes!!
